Subject Matter Expert

**Job Purpose**
- As a technical authority in equipment shutdown processes, possessing in-depth knowledge of cement manufacturing machinery, you will play a pivotal role in optimising equipment maintenance and minimising downtime during shutdowns.
- Act as a repository of authoritative information and as a knowledge resource for the team, sharing insights and lessons learned from past shutdown experiences.
- The SME will be responsible for training and providing advice to the Shutdown Department team other cross-functional teams on optimizing shutdown processes within our cement manufacturing facility.

Knowledge Building
- Equip the core shutdown team for success by deepening engineers' understanding of the provided training on best practices for efficient plant shutdown through detailed on-the-job programs and practical exercises.

Collaborative Planning and Execution
- Partner with the Core Shutdown HOD and team leads to craft comprehensive shutdown plans, factoring in equipment, resources, and timelines.
- Co-develop detailed shutdown plans considering equipment criticality, resource availability, and project deadlines.

Technical Expertise and Guidance
- Conduct thorough evaluations of critical equipment to identify maintenance needs during shutdowns.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to the maintenance and operations teams throughout shutdown activities.

Adaptability and Problem-Solving
- Closely monitor progress and make adjustments to the plan on the fly to maximize efficiency and overcome unforeseen challenges.
- Train the Shutdown team to identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to minimize their impact on shutdown schedules.

Performance Analysis and Improvement
- Analyze shutdown performance metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and share findings with Management.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to refine future shutdowns for even greater effectiveness.

Communication and Reporting:

- Guide the Shutdown HOD and Leads to provide regular reports with insights and analysis on equipment performance and shutdown efficiency.

**Preferred Experience**
- Proven 20 years of experience in shutdown management within the cement or heavy industry.
- Expertise and exposure in the operation and maintenance of cement manufacturing equipment, including crushers, mills, kilns, and conveyors.

**Qualification**
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

**Job Type**: Contract

**Salary**: RM20,000.00 - RM22,000.00 per month
