***Overview**

The Dean, School of Business and Technology plays a critical role in setting up the School, shaping the academic curriculum and maintaining the School’s reputation and accreditation status. Overall, the Dean is responsible for overseeing the School’s operations, covering academics, research, innovation, infrastructure and community engagement. He/she will be the change champion in leading IMU’s first School of Business and Technology.

**Responsibilities**:**Academic Leadership**
- Provide visionary leadership to advance the school's academic mission and strategic goals.
- Develop and implement academic programs and curricula in line with industry trends and accreditation standards.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, research, and innovation within the school.
***Faculty Management**
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified faculty members.
- Support faculty development and evaluation.
- Facilitate academic collaboration and research initiatives among faculty members and partner schools.
***Student Affairs**
- Oversee student recruitment and admissions processes.
- Ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment for a great student experience.
- Address academic and disciplinary issues as they arise.
***Budget and Resource Management**
- Develop and manage the school's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Allocate resources effectively to support teaching, research, and administrative needs.
- Seek external funding and grants to support academic initiatives.
- Responsible for the P&L of the School to remain sustainable and profitable.
***Accreditation and Quality Assurance**
- Ensure that academic programs meet MQA accreditation standards and quality benchmarks as well as partner schools’ requirements.
- Lead efforts to maintain and enhance the accreditation status of the school.
- Monitor and improve academic programme outcomes and assessments.
***Curriculum Development and Enhancement**
- Review and update academic programmes within the School to align with industry needs and emerging trends.
- Foster innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in curriculum development.
- Integrate technology and online learning into academic offerings.
***Industry Partnerships**
- Establish and maintain partnerships with industry organisations, businesses, and alumni.
- Facilitate internships and job placement opportunities for students.
- Promote research collaborations and knowledge exchange with industry and partner schools.
***Outreach and Marketing**
- Represent the school within the university and external stakeholders.
- Develop marketing strategies to promote the school's programmes and achievements.
- Engage with alumni and build a strong alumni network.
- Responsible for student numbers as set by the Management.
***Strategic Planning**
- Participate in university-level strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Define and execute the school's strategic plan, goals, and objectives to meet the University’s overall objectives.
***Governance and Policy**
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements from the MOHE, MQA, and the university’s policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with other academic units and university administration on cross-functional initiatives.
- Handle administrative matters, such as faculty evaluations, promotions, and tenure decisions.
***Teaching, Research and Scholarship**
- Teach and deliver courses in undergraduate, post graduate and professional development programmes
- Promote and support faculty research, scholarship, and publication activities.
- Foster a culture of research and innovation within the school.

**Job Requirements**
- A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in business-related disciplines.
- Significant academic and administrative leadership experience, ideally in a university setting.
- Proven record of teaching and research excellence.
- Proven record of programme development, assessment, and accreditation.
- Experience in setting-up or growing a business school would be preferred.
