Manage safe and efficient operation of Catering department
- Manage and coordinate actions to maintain clean and healthy environment necessarily for daily operations
- Scope
- Area of responsibility covers managing catering personnel as well as housekeeping and laundry utilities. The management may assign additional tasks not listed in Job Description**Duties**
Planning menus in consultation with chefs and ordering supplies as required
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to, recorded and archived
- Monitoring of food quality, service and kitchen management
- Stock Control (receiving, discharging and monitoring of catering stock and management of Provisions and Bond Store)
- Supervision of house keeping
- Liaise directly with OIM for all matters pertaining to services provided
- Accommodations for new arrivals
- Holding tool box meetings with catering crew daily**Authority**
Delegated authority by OIM**Qualifications**
Certified cook with a minimum of five years’ experience
- Catering diploma and basic Food handling & Hygiene certificate
- Proficiency in all aspects of cooking, food hygiene, stock rotation and nutritional aspects of menu planning
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position in the offshore industry
- Must have all valid and up to date Offshore Certificates (BOSIET/HUET)
- Must have Typhoid vaccination
- First Aid offshore certificate
- Offshore medical certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills combined with a high level of initiative
- Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer services
- The ability to think quickly, work in stressful conditions and stay calm in a crisis
- Knowledge of food, food hygiene and food preparation
- Basic IT skills (ability to prepare reports etc.)
