The Warehouse and Yard Supervisor is to ensure a safe and reliable operational environment. In this role, the Warehouse and Yard Supervisor will execute standard processes and procedures for warehouse activities. These processes include receiving, storage, yard management, preservation, physical inventory verification, accuracy and the delivery of inventory to internal and external customers. The Warehouse and Yard Supervisor reports to the Warehouse and Yard Manager.
**As a Warehouse and Yard Supervisor, you will be responsible for**:
- Leading, coordinating, and overseeing warehouse and logistics operations. Activities include productivity and process quality of warehouse operations, reducing controllable expenses, VCP, and contract labor spend, and covering EHS, logistics and shipping processes (including purchasing, receiving, and shipping).
- Managing warehouse to ensure customer requirements are met (including providing scope to contract labor workforce in warehouse).
- Managing and coordinating communication between the project managers, global supply chain and the logistics teams or vendors as needed. Oversees strategic planning of the logistics for each project to ensure successful delivery. Drives cost reduction wherever applicable while meeting customer and safety requirements.
- Working together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning activities, and giving explanations on technical issues.
- Handling standardized project processes. Guidelines for choosing the right actions. Some latitude in ways of working and planning.
- Handling targeted clients. Works on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks. Some latitude to deviate from those conditions.
**Fuel your passion**
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Services).
- Have previous experience in a warehouse setting, preferably including moving tubular freight.
- Have experience operating a forklift.
- Have experience with cycle counts and basic inventory control functions.
- Demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Be process-oriented and have critical thinking skills.
- Be able to work in a team to deliver results in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Have an aptitude for Microsoft Office (Excel) and preferably previous experience using SAP.
