We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **Manager DBS and Global Functions Compliance**.

The Manager DBS and Global Functions Compliance is responsible for supporting the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager and Head of Regulatory Conduct Malaysia in ensuring that HSBC’s operations in Digital Business Services and the Global Functions in HSBC Malaysia (including HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad, HSBC (Malaysia) Trustee Berhad, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Offshore Banking Unit, Labuan and HSBC Corporate Advisory (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd) are effective in identifying, managing and mitigating Regulatory Compliance risks and ensuring timely advice is provided to DBS & the Global Functions.

**Principal Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of the Manager DBS & GF Compliance are:

- Primarily to support DBS and the Global Functions, to maintain an effective control framework and to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws and regulations, internal codes and practices and good market practices.
- Assist the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager with articulating the Regulatory Compliance risks for DBS the Global Functions Malaysia.
- Provide advisory services to DBS and the Global Functions in order to ensure clear understanding of compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products as well as outsourcing and data transfer initiatives.
- Support the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager with managing the relationship with relevant regulators on behalf of DBS and the Global Functions/ other Risk Stewards.
- Assist the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager with responsibility for second line governance of Regulatory Compliance risks exposures, providing analysis, reporting and governance to DBS and the Global Functions that is independent of the first line of defence, thereby maintaining an objective assessment of risk exposure.
- Assist the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager with exercising risk steward challenge, act as independent trusted advisory in governance forums, issue management, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with risk owners and control owners.
- Responsible for implementation of and advising on Regulatory Compliance programmes and policies in DBS and the Global Functions.
- Support the Senior DBS & GF Compliance Manager in driving coordination, implementation and execution of the various entity-level Regulatory Compliance programmes and Group Compliance policies in Malaysia.

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- An undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal, Accounting Professional qualification or a related field.
- Risk, compliance or regulatory experience across business lines or functions and experience in HSBC predominant business lines or functions.
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, including business/ Global Functions senior management and regulators.
- Experience with the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel and a strong understanding of HSBC’s corporate culture.
- Strong understanding of:

- Regulators and their agenda / approach;
- Regulations as applicable to the bank;
- HSBC organisation and governance structures;
- Design and coordination of processes;
- Stakeholder management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to project authority, negotiate effectively and influence others.
- Strong time and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple outputs simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good commercial acumen.
- Ability to distil complex regulatory requirements and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
