Our Supply Management team for Operations in Puchong is hiring Purchasing Analyst, who will be responsible for negotiation and purchasing of service or good that is essential to a company's ongoing operations. Formulating a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, and executing on it, as well as holding suppliers accountable. Utilizing technology and procedures that facilitate the purchasing process. Considering the theories of supply and demand and what influence they have on supply management. Run the business for operation. Plans raw material and perform purchasing function efficiently to support departmental objectives, meeting company objectives and fulfill customer experience. Ultimately responsible for daily operations supply issues.
**Task**:
1. Purchase goods using SAP system as required in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate dates on all orders. Monitor delivery from supplier to ensure material availability for planned production schedule. Coordinates with freight forwarders to ensure smooth deliveries for supporting production schedule. Support logistic team on custom request when necessary.
2. To analyze part usage trend and share the forecast information with vendor for material planning. Work with demand Planners to manage demand / capacity planning forecast management with suppliers. Work with other region’s team for shared materials. Determine capacity needs vs production plan, production ramp up/ down of inventory for new product launch or product culling. Replenish material accordingly to ensure availability at all-time including issue Delivery instruction for Kanban material or JIT pulling. Define optimum safety stock & propose strategic purchase (hedging) for the plant for long lead time materials to avoid production line interruption / air freights. Monitor/ review Vendor Managed Inventory and propose changes with Supply Management - Sourcing group.
3. KPI report preparation such as Monthly supplier delivery performance report. Conduct monthly business review with key suppliers together with the relevant cross-function team. Liaise with suppliers to build positive relationships, including frequent visits to ensure smooth supplier performance.
4. Identify cost savings / continuous improvement opportunities in the supply chain. Involve/ lead in Kaizen/A3 project. Work Proactive with Sourcing Group to eliminate Bottleneck in Supply/ Risk in VSM. Support quality team in resolving day
- to-day quality issues from suppliers. Work closely with QA in coordinating reject materials with respective vendors. Work closely with Finance on vendor payment issue.
5. To arrange and coordinate subcontract process as and when needed. Support in administration work such as filing of parts drawing & ISO document. All other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.
**Skills/Abilities**:
- Analytical Skill: Ability to evaluate & compare vendors & supply chain options based on a variety of factors and propose a recommendation that best benefits the Company.
- Business Acumen/ Economic Analysis: Ability to understand/interpret product and costing data, economic principles, profit/loss analysis as they relate to the profitability of the Company’s operations.
- Written & Verbal Communication Skill: Ability to communicate technical, business, & operational requirements effectively across different functional teams internally and externally. Experience in working with contracts is a plus. Language proficiency in mandarin is a plus.
- Project Management: Ability to plan project timelines, manage and lead project team to complete projects within the proposed budget & timeline per plan.
- Technology/ Engineering Analysis & Methodology: Ability to understand manufacturing principles and processes according to the Company’s product needs. Experience in one or more in the following commodities is required: aluminum die-casting, packaging materials, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, wood working. Experience in understanding & interpreting technical drawing requirements relating to the above commodity is a plus.
- Problem Solving/ Decision Making: Ability to utilize a variety of methods and techniques in solving technical challenges. Comfortable in challenging status quo/ established practices to problem solve. Able to recommend resources necessary to resolve issues and implements changes under limited supervision.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases & analytics. SAP experience is a plus.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively with peers and influence management in a multi-disciplined team environment, networking both internally and externally.
**Education/Experience**
- Diploma/ Degree in Supply Management/ Supply Chain or Equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Purchasing Management in the similar position.
