Our client, a higher education university based in Putrajaya, is looking for a Student Recruitment Manager to join their team.
The Dean is a dynamic leader responsible for the strategic vision, academic excellence, and operational management of the Faculty. The Dean will foster an inclusive and innovative
environment, promoting excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. This role
requires a forward-thinking approach to curriculum development, faculty support, research advancement, and financial stewardship in alignment with the University’s mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Strategic Resource Management: Oversee the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of students and the industry. Ensure sufficient service and prerequisite courses within the Faculty, aligning syllabi with prerequisite requirements.
- Innovative Curriculum Development: Drive the creation and implementation of innovative, interdisciplinary curricular configurations that respond to current and future educational trends.
- Enhancement Activities: Facilitate a range of academic enrichment activities, including workshops, seminars, and partnerships with external organizations.
- Program Evaluation: Continuously review and assess academic programs, identifying and supporting programs of excellence, and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
- Staff Recruitment and Development: Approve the appointment of academic staff and administrators, ensuring robust orientation and ongoing professional development programs.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Promote and maintain affirmative action programs for faculty and staff recruitment and retention, ensuring compliance with University diversity and inclusion policies.
Academic People Management
- Personnel Management: Recommend and, when authorized, approve the recruitment, appointment, promotion, corrective actions, and termination of academic personnel.
- Faculty Development: Support the scholarly development of Faculty members, with a particular focus on mentoring junior faculty and fostering research and professional growth.
- Leave Policies: Administer leave policies, with authority to approve or reject paid and unpaid leaves, including sabbaticals, in accordance with University guidelines.
Administrative Direction
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial operations of the Faculty, including budgeting, securing external funding, and managing resources efficiently.
- Strategic Planning: Identify needs for faculty positions, establish priorities, and make strategic recommendations to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Vice-Chancellor (VC), and Managing Director.
- Facility Management: Ensure the effective management of the Faculty's physical spaces, facilities, and property.
Administrative Coordination
- Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with University leadership to develop and implement campus-wide policies and programs, providing insights on recruitment and evaluation processes that impact the Faculty.
- Senior Management Liaison: Engage with senior University management to support Faculty goals, coordinate related activities, and provide advice on staff recruitment and evaluation.
- Governance: Maintain effective interaction between faculty governance and academic administration, ensuring alignment with Faculty affairs.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster open communication and collaboration among Faculty members, exploring joint initiatives and addressing common concerns.
Research and Development
- Research Leadership: Provide strategic direction and support for research initiatives within the Faculty, promoting interdisciplinary and innovative research projects.
- Funding and Grants: Facilitate and support the pursuit of research funding and grants from external sources, including government agencies, industry partners, and foundations.
- Research Collaboration: Foster collaborations with other academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners to enhance research opportunities and outcomes.
- Research Infrastructure: Ensure the availability and maintenance of state-of-the-art research facilities and resources within the Faculty.
- Knowledge Dissemination: Promote the dissemination of research findings through publications, conferences, and other scholarly activities, enhancing the Faculty's academic reputation.
Business Development and Community Engagement
- Revenue Generation: Lead efforts to generate revenue, ensuring the Faculty meets its financial targets and enhances its financial sustainability.
- Marketing and Outreach: Represent the Faculty in marketing and outreach activities, strengthening its profile and building strategic partnerships with industry, alumni, and other stakeholders.
