**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

Responsible for the total dietetic care of inpatients and outpatients who are referred to dietitians within the guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. Coordinate and implement activities for the department.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Renders therapeutic dietetic advice to inpatients and outpatients, individualize needs as necessary within agreed SOPs.
- Educates patients on the preparation of therapeutic menus for patients.
- Develop and provide instructional materials to assist patients in their home dietary program, and arrange for follow-up dietary care subsequent to discharge or transfer.
- Initiate, coordinate, plan, and conduct dietetic projects for hospitals and the public.
- Develop standard operating procedures and other guidelines in accordance with departmental needs.
- Develop mission statements and goals for improving standards in healthcare and services.
- Ensure an optimum and friendly environment for all staff in the department team to maximize potential and reduce turnover over staff.
- Assess performance and achievement of staff in department to determine areas of improvement and reward achievements with promotions and increments in accordance with hospital policies and needs.
- Maintain accurate and legible records and other documents.
- Adopts a caring approach to patients and relatives and communicates effectively.
- Communicate well with other members of the health care team and practice teamwork for the best interests of the patient.
- Monitor catering services on preparation of special therapeutic diet.

- Plan and develop the new therapeutic menu for the hospital together with catering dietitian of service provided.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude at the workplace and towards patients.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by HOD within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Develops self to become fully competent in clinical and managerial skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and documents.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum Degree majoring in Dietetics or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of related working experience as a Dietitian
- Excellent patient service and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team or independently with mínimal supervision

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate, Student job

**Salary**: From RM3,000.00 per month
