**Summary
The Finance Director is a senior leadership position that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency

and compliance of all operation in the finance functions within the organisation, enabling the

business to focus on its core activities and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Global Director, Corporate Services, the Finance Director understands and

contributes to building the strategic direction in addition to being hands-on in all financial,

accounting, control and audits management while leading and growing a team of professionals.

**Key responsibilities**
- Budgeting and financial planning: Plan and lead the overall annual planning and budget

setting process for the organization, ensuring efficient use of resources globally.
Consolidates income and expenses, and provides direction to senior management on the
allocation and use of resources. Analyze and make recommendation related on all major
financial decisions. Drive and streamline the financial planning across all Support Centers.
- **Support governance oversight framework**: Support the governance functions of the

Finance Committee and Audit Committee to assist World Scout Committee in fulfilling its
obligations and oversight responsibilities relating to financial planning, auditing process,
financial reporting, the system of internal controls, and risk management.
- **Financial year end closing**: Champion the Bureau’s financial year end closing process.

Involve in the preparation of the organisation’s consolidated financial statements in
accordance with the Swiss GAAP RPC within the established external audit timelines; provide
the management response to the external auditor’s recommendations and implement
decisions taken by the Audit Committee.
- **Internal control and compliance**: Strengthen financial controls with focus of implementing

financial best practices across all Support Centers. Establish and maintain robust internal
controls and compliance frameworks to ensure financial integrity, accurate financial
reporting, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Financial reporting: Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting across

all Support Centers, ensuring compliance with Swiss accounting standards and regulations,
and presenting financial reports to senior management team and budget stakeholders,
during month-end and year-end closing. Perform budgetary control in analyzing variances
between actuals and budgets to identify drivers and trends, and resolve discrepancies.
- **Collaboration on fund management**: Collaborate with business development and grant

management team to optimize and control over restricted and unrestricted grants, regularly
monitoring and reporting according to Swiss RPC GAAP.
- **Financial best practices**: Develop and implement financial best practices and tools to

ensure a well-coordinated yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management,
project-grant coordination, cross-team communication, and workflows.
- Financial operations management: Supervise and guide the finance team in performing

day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, cashflow, investment, billing,
interoffice, collections, disbursements, employee-volunteer claims, and treasury
management.
- **Key performance indicator**: Develop, drive, and achieve monthly KPIs of Corporate

Services’ operations and teams. Monitor KPIs to ensure operational objectives are met.
- **Risk management**: Identify and assess potential risks associated to Corporate Services and

develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- **Policy development**: Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures related to

financial management to ensure compliance with legal requirements and governance
standards.
- **System improvements**: Responsible for coordinating and supporting the deployment of

Financial Management System that includes developing process blueprint, system
procurement, testing and configuration. The incumbent also ensures the optimal use of the
system as well as driving process improvements.
- Team management: Lead and inspire a team of finance professionals ensuring high
- performance and motivation.- **Relationship management**: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal

stakeholders, external business partners such as regulators, vendors, bankers, and auditors
to foster collaboration and ensure financial objectives are aligned.
- **Continuous improvement**: Identify opportunities for work process streamlining, information

or quality improvements within One WSB, supporting the Global Director of Corporate
Service to ensure every opportunity is taken to develop and enhance the provision of a good
financial management services.
