Infection Control Staff Nurse

1) General Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities with all members of healthcare team in the hospital pertaining to patient’s care.
- Formulate and implement plan for on-going evaluation of patient care.
- Promote and maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients, visitors and healthcare workers.
- Ensure clinician’s order are carried out; clarify areas of uncertainty and any dispute regarding clinical management, to refer matter to relevant consultant.
- Liaise with healthcare members to ensure appropriate patient care.

2) Administrative
- Participate in the development of the infection control policies and procedures.
- Prepare data and report on infection control activities as required.
- Assist and ensure infection control related incidents are reported and investigated within the timeline provided.
- Communicate with staff on infection control issue from time to time.
- Resource person of infection control policies and practices to patients, visitors and healthcare workers.
- Monitor compliance with infection control policies, including activities directly to audits.

3) Supervision on infection control practices:

- Hand Hygiene compliance.
- Compliance to PPE Guidelines, cleaning and disinfection of medical devices.
- Proper segregation and disposal of health care waste.
- Isolation of patients in accordance to transmission-based precautions.
- Adherence to standard precautions.

4) Surveillance
- Assist in coordination surveillance activities for the hospital.
- Collecting and analysing data of surveillance performed in the hospital.
- Collect data on incidence of inoculation accident surveillance. Provide counselling to exposed staff post-exposure.
- Assist and involve in outbreak management.
- Collect, analyse and monitor all infection control related quality indicators.

5) Education
- Work closely with Infection Control Manager/Assistant Manager in disseminate, educate and create awareness on infection control practices to health care workers, patients and visitors.
- Conduct / involve in awareness campaign i.e hand hygiene campaign, safety week.
- Involve in hospital orientation and in-services program to all relevant staff pertaining to infection control.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fresh graduate

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
