Japanese Language and Culture Teacher for Children

ILOHA Culture Centre (Pusat Bahasa ILOHA) looking for Japanese Language and Culture Teacher for Children Bangsar Baru, KL Part-Time (25-30 hours a week, 5-6 hours a day) Job Description: o Teach Japanese language classes from basic to children age groups varying from ages 6-12 and ages 12-16; o Conduct hybrid Japanese language lessons (Physically at our centre, virtually via ZOOM); o Conduct up to 10 classes a week (average - 1-2 lessons/day) *after the probationary period (Probationary period will focus more on training and preparation, there will be fewer classes); o Plan, coordinate, and conduct simple Japanese culture-related activities and events for the children; o Preparation of teaching materials; o Marking homework, tests, and evaluation of students’ performances; o Perform student management and communicate with parents (inquiries, feedback, updates, reminders, announcements); o Communicate and collaborate with other teachers and staff using both English and Japanese to create a better working and learning environment; o Carry out any practical and administrative duties associated with teaching Japanese language and culture. Requirements: o A-Level, O-Level school leavers, university/college/TVET students, and fresh graduates (Mothers with child/children and/or with experience taking care of children are welcome to apply); o Must be able to communicate in English; o Must be able to speak the Japanese Language (basic daily conversational level); o Japanese language learning background (any appropriate experience learning Japanese from the basic minimum up to N3 level including alphabet system, grammar, expressions, etc.); o Enjoy working with children; o Patient, pleasant, polite, and responsible; o Committed, cooperative, and able to multi-task; o Experience is not required. Training will be provided; o The desire to learn a new profession and muster own skills is crucial; o Basic PC skills: Microsoft Office, ZOOM for online learning; o Malaysia citizenship holder
- Must be able to work on the following days and hours (current schedule): NORMAL PERIOD AT SCHOOLS: Wed, Thu, Fri - 12:30-18:00 (30min. lunch break); Sat, Sun - 10:00-15:30 (30min. lunch break) HOLIDAY PERIOD AT SCHOOLS: Mon to Fri - 09:30-15:00 (30min. lunch break) Work Conditions:
- Part-Time (25-30 hours a week, 5-6 hours a day)
- Work 5 days a week: - During normal school period: Working days: Wed to Sun; Off days: Mon & Tue (You will be responsible for regular after-school classes and weekend classes) - During school holiday period: Working days: Mon-Fri; Off days: Sat & Sun (You will be responsible for the Intensive Course while regular after-school classes and weekend classes will be on break during school holidays)
- Probationary period: 3 months - Basic salary: RM1,500-1,800/month (probationary/confirmed) - Travelling allowance: RM200/month - Telephone allowance: RM30/month - EPF, SOCSO, and EIS contributions by the employer - Annual leave and sick leave during 1st and 2nd year - 6 days and 10 days per annum - Bonus, rewards, and salary increments are at the discretion of the employer, and will be considered based on the performance during the current year and additional achievements

Our Japanese Language Courses for Adults, Private/Semi-Private Lessons, and Japanese Company Lessons are conducted by Native Certified Japanese Language Teachers and focused on delivering the best available experience to Japanese language learners using the Direct Method of Teaching. We provide face-to-face, online, and hybrid options to students, and our classrooms are equipped with all the necessary equipment for hybrid classes to deliver high-quality learning experiences for both the students who choose to join online or physically. We provide Japanese Language and Culture education for children of age range from 6 to 16. Our courses for children are conducted by trained instructors who are able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malay, and Mandarin and are focused on exploring the Japanese Language and Culture from the basic step-by-step in a fun, activity-based way. We also provide lessons for other languages such as English, Bahasa Malay, and Mandarin as well.
