- Prepare and bake a variety of cake types, including sponge cakes, layer cakes, cheesecakes, and specialty cakes.
- Create and develop cake recipes and flavour combinations, taking into account dietary restrictions and customer preferences.
- Prepare cake batters, frostings, and fillings. This involves measuring and mixing ingredients accurately.
- Decorate cakes with precision and artistic flair, using various techniques, such as piping, fondant sculpting, and edible decorations.
- Work closely with customers to understand their specific cake design and flavour preferences, ensuring that the final product meets their expectations.
- Maintain high-quality standards, ensuring that all cakes meet the established taste and presentation criteria.
- Keep track of ingredients and supplies, ordering new items as needed to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
- Regularly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, and decorating tools, to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, handling orders, and managing customer expectations.
- Collaborate with other staff and cake decorators to ensure a smooth workflow, especially in a bakery or pastry shop.
- Keep up to date with current baking and cake decorating trends, new techniques, and ingredients to offer innovative creations.
- Determine the cost of ingredients and labour for each cake to set appropriate pricing and manage the budget effectively.
- Manage multiple cake orders and deadlines, ensuring that cakes are prepared and delivered on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning up after each baking session
- Keep records of cake orders, customer information, and inventory levels.
**Requirement**:
- Able to work in KUANTAN, PAHANG
- Have basic knowledge about baking products
- Have baker experience or work in a similar baking role
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other staff.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Internship
**Salary**: RM1,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
