Job Overview

The position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at SEGi University & Colleges involves teaching and mentoring postgraduate students, preparing lesson plans and schemes of work, and supervising research activities. The ideal candidate should possess a Doctorate in Finance or a related field and have at least 5 years of working experience with 2 years of lecturing experience in tertiary education.

Key Responsibilities
  • To prepare high-quality lesson plans, schemes of work, tutorials, assignments, and class discussions that cater to the needs of postgraduate students.
  • To supervise and guide postgraduate students on their research activities and grants, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • To utilize the learning management system effectively to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • To design and develop test/examination questions and marking schemes that assess student knowledge and skills.
Research Focus
  • To undertake and contribute to research projects, either individually or collaboratively, that advance the field of Finance.
  • To engage in scholarly projects that demonstrate expertise and innovation in teaching and research.
  • To participate in knowledge generation, exchange, and transfer activities that benefit the academic community and industry partners.
Requirements
  • Candidate must hold a Doctorate (PhD) in Finance or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of working experience, preferably with 2 years of lecturing experience in tertiary education.
  • Able to communicate complex concepts and ideas effectively to diverse groups.
  • Able to establish and maintain external networks that facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Recognition as a scholar, teacher, and/or practice-based professional.
  • Familiarity with higher education and ability to employ various delivery techniques to engage students.
