Connect Energy is partnering with a reputable oil and gas engineering company to find a seasoned Senior Mechanical and Piping Engineer for a 2-year contract in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Piping and Layout discipline in the engineering management team, overseeing FEED consultants, EPC contractors, and Material Equipment vendors.
- Develop and issue Piping and Layout basis of design, project specifications, and scope of work for Feasibility Studies, FEED, and EPC projects.
- Evaluate engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and Material and Equipment vendor proposals, assessing their capabilities.
- Review, validate, and approve Piping and Layout discipline deliverables.
- Collaborate with the project management team, other engineering disciplines, and operation teams for Piping and Layout Engineering discipline review.
- Verify the accuracy of Engineering Database, including 3D tools like Aveva E3D.
- Review as-built deliverables and ensure all approved as-built deliverables are uploaded in the document management system.
- Maintain adherence to the Quality Management System established and adhere to QA plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10-12 years of engineering experience in refineries, petrochemicals, or oil and gas projects.
- At least 5 consecutive years of engineering experience as a lead piping/mechanical engineer in internationally reputable engineering and EPC companies on refineries, petrochemicals, or oil and gas projects.
- Involved in 2 FEED or EPC detailed engineering experiences on refineries, petrochemicals, or oil and gas projects from beginning to end.
- Hands-on experience with plot plans, layouts, pipe routing, 3D modeling, piping stress analysis, material selection in FEED/EPC projects.
- Familiarity with international and local codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Aveva E3D plant design software or equivalent and proficiency in piping stress analysis software like CAESAR II.
- Experience in field piping engineering, construction, or commissioning is an added advantage.
