S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team of experts in biofuels research and analysis. As a Senior Research Scientist Energy Transition, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis of the biofuels market, including feedstocks, supply, demand, trade, and pricing information.

About the Job:
  • You will have the opportunity to work with a global team of experts in biofuels research and analysis.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining and updating various databases and models which are the backbone of our analysis.
  • You will act as a subject matter expert for these markets, contributing to a wide range of S&P Global Commodity Insights publications.
  • You will collaborate and support colleagues from other offices within and outside the region and other Commodity Insights teams to improve research activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g. Economics, Business, etc.; a graduate degree is a plus, but not essential.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in related research and/or analytical role, typically acquired by working in industry, government, or consulting.
  • Experience in biofuels or other industries, such as energy, agricultural commodities, or refined product markets, would be advantageous.
  • Excellent Excel skills (experience with Excel modelling is a plus) and proficiency with other MS applications (Word and PowerPoint) are required. The ability to program in VisualBasic, Python or R would be a plus.
  • Excellent English writing and presentation skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload with limited supervision.
