About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optic Process Engineer to join our team at Samtec, Inc. As a key member of our Optics department, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining manufacturing processes and tools, ensuring the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Ownership
- Establish and maintain ownership of manufacturing processes and tools, including Optics toolsets and automated equipment.
- Set up structure to support manufacturing through AutoTech System Requests.
- Develop and implement process improvements based on QP and audit finding data.
- Review daily processing issues identified by production and develop long-term improvements.
- Owning all tooling qualifications to ensure a smooth transition from NR (Development) to production.
- Ensuring all print dimensions are met before releasing to production.
- Implementing product-related updates that affect tooling/processes in Optics.
- Working with technicians and production to run product with updated features.
- Determine critical process parameters that must be monitored to produce good quality products.
- Investigating from initial discovery until root cause through data and failure analysis.
- Utilizing analysis tools to extract, summarize, predict, correlate data, and perform regression analysis.
- Continuous improvement of processes while working with Engineering on improvements and following through on the improvement.
Requirements
- Experience
- Minimum 5+ years working experience in Process Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to analyze process issues and dig deep to uncover root causes and offer corrective actions.
- Knowledge in data analysis or Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of Optics attach processes and tooling required to perform the attach processes.
- BS in Engineering related field or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
