Job Overview

At Extreme Broadband Sdn. Bhd., we are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Center Electrical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and have experience working with data center equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center, including conducting daily walkthroughs, performing OTDR and light loss testing, and maintaining cabling and documentation records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the data center facility to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities and project work as assigned by the internal team.
  • Proactive monitoring of production systems with a sense of urgency when issues arise.
  • Server, network, and all types of equipment installations.
  • Understand and debug network, hardware, and server-related issues.
  • Provide remote hands-on support for clients.
  • Utilize and work with vendors when needed to handle issues.
  • Maintain cabling within the data center, including pulling or running new cabling for fiber and CAT6.
  • Perform OTDR and light loss testing of fiber optic links.
  • Maintain documentation and inventory records.

Requirements

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • 1 – 2 years working experience in a related field.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Knowledge in server, network equipment, and software support configuration.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team with team members.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Possess own transport and able to travel.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
