We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Director to lead our underwriting team at Phillip Capital Group. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit risk principles, underwriting processes, and the unique risks of proprietary trading.
About the Role:
- Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective credit evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with credit and proprietary trading activities.
- Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to ensure alignment with the firm's risk management framework.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve or recommend credit facilities for clients, including margin trading, derivative positions, and trading accounts, based on thorough analysis.
- Monitor counterparty risk models and implement exposure limits for clients and proprietary trading.
- Ensure comprehensive due diligence for all credit proposals, including proprietary exposures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA) or certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PRM are highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, underwriting, and operations within stockbroking, derivative broking, proprietary trading, or financial services firms.
