Key Responsibilities

The Sr Buyer will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and projecting component purchase prices to ensure accurate inventory values.
  • Participating in recruiting and hiring activities to build a strong purchasing team.
  • Providing training, tools, and resources to ensure Purchasing staff can execute their job functions effectively.
  • Ongoing optimization of material costs to drive business growth.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement SCM initiatives.
  • Improving sourcing options by leveraging Jabil's internal resources and customer relationships.
  • Determining quoted costs that balance competitiveness with material price variance.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback to drive improvement.
  • Managing Business Unit-specific and strategic materials to maximize efficiency.
  • Staying up-to-date on market trends, technologies, and supplier capabilities.
  • Communicating Jabil's expectations to suppliers and conducting regular audits and reviews.
  • Developing Supply Chain strategies that meet customer needs and leverage Jabil's strengths.
  • Working with Materials Quote Analysts to quote new and existing materials and negotiate cost reductions.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions that protect Jabil's interests while meeting customer needs.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
