Job Summary

iPS Powerful People is seeking an experienced Chief Officer to join our team as Chief Mate on a hopper dredger. This role requires a strong background in dredging and excellent leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the dredging process, supervising engineering and maintenance teams, and managing crew performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a Dutch Certificate of Competency at least Chief Mate 3000GT, a Seaman's book, and Valid Maritime Approval. They must also be fluent in verbal and written Dutch and English and have proven experience as Chief Mate on board various (larger) hoppers.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Oversee dredging operations and ensure safe working practices.
  • Manage crew performance and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
