Job Summary

As an HR Manager, Employee Relations and Legal Advisor at Masimo, you will play a critical role in providing legal support and advice to the company globally on various legal matters. This position requires a solid business orientation, practical problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on upholding the company's ethics, culture, and principles of integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drafting and Negotiating Contracts

Draft, review, and negotiate various types of agreements, including commercial contracts, services agreements, vendors' contracts, and data privacy agreements. Ensure compliance with U.S., EU, and other international laws and regulations.

Contract Management

Coordinate with subject matter experts to complete contract reviews and approvals. Identify legal risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

Compliance and Risk Management

Support the company on compliance matters, particularly those related to anti-corruption and data privacy. Ensure compliance with U.S., EU, and other international laws and regulations.

Legal Support and Guidance

Provide responsive and effective legal support and guidance to all business units, including sales, marketing, supply chain, engineering, clinical research, and business development departments.

Outside Counsel Management

Manage and direct outside counsel as necessary, including supervising their work and managing spend.

Policies and Procedures

Develop, update, and maintain the company's employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Employment Contracts

Manage the process of drafting, reviewing, and updating employment contracts for new hires, promotions, and terminations. Ensure employment contracts follow applicable laws and company policies.

HR Policy and Procedure Management

Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment contract terms. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Investigations and Compliance

Investigate complaints or concerns related to policy violations and take appropriate corrective actions. Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations and make recommendations for policy updates as needed.

Requirements
  1. Experience

Three years of experience working in-house or a combination of in-house and reputable law firm experience.

Contract Negotiation and Management

Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

Communication and Research Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication, research, and presentation skills.

Teamwork and Adaptability

Practical, logical, and efficient problem solver able to work cross-functionally. Strong work ethic, team player, and positive attitude.

Attention to Detail and Organization

Organized and keen attention to detail. Results-oriented, self-motivated, and self-directed.

Regulatory Knowledge

Working knowledge of competition law and data protection laws, especially GDPR. Knowledge of and experience with laws and regulations applicable to medical technology companies, such as U.S. FCPA and UK Bribery Act.

Education

Master's degree in law or equivalent as required.
