Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams in building exceptional products and driving growth, we seek a Supplier Quality Engineer located in Malaysia, Johor.

A Typical Day:

  • Selecting suitable suppliers through joint efforts with sourcing teams, considering quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environmental impact, social responsibility, and regulatory compliance against customer requirements.
  • Implementing new supplier qualification processes, including capability matching, supplier risk assessment, self-assessment, onsite audits, and database management.
  • Conducting Value-Added Engineering Activities (VEA) to understand customer drawings, specifications, and provide feedback for optimization of supplier manufacturing processes or products.
  • MATERIAL QUALIFICATION---Enforcing PPAP (FAI), which includes FAI, material certificates, quality/process control plans, FMEA, MSA, process parameter sheets, RoHS compliance, reliability testing, COC, etc.
  • Pilot Run Tracking---Monitoring new qualified part quality performance to ensure it meets customer quality requirements during the pilot run phase and facilitating smooth transitions to mass production.
  • HOT ISSUE SOLUTION AND TROUBLE SHOOTING---Acting as a Subject Matter Expert to resolve supplier quality-related issues and troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintenance Audit Support---Assisting in annual maintenance audits for existing suppliers with SQE involvement.
  • Supplier CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) Assistance---Helping suppliers utilize quality tools to enhance their manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • ECO/ECN/SCR Implementation---Managing customer-provided ECO/ECN/SCRs, tracking their status, and ensuring necessary PPAP/FAIs are completed before production begins.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, applications, and process development enables effective collaboration with suppliers to improve quality components and services.
  • Performing quality audits on suppliers to ensure adherence to International Organization for Standards (ISO) and regulatory requirements.
  • Fostering strong relationships with purchasing engineers and suppliers to maintain a robust system and supplier network.
  • Providing cross-functional support for supplier selection, approval, and development to meet customer and business needs.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of supplier process control plans, measures, and activities.
  • Applying statistical techniques and professional judgment to research data for process improvement.
  • Developing and guiding the execution of process validations and tests; exploring resulting data and documenting results.
  • Guiding supplier process capability studies.
  • Designing experiments to characterize supplier processes and identify root causes.
  • Establishing procedures for new and/or improved supplier processes.
  • Collaborating with Receiving Inspection teams, including statistical analysis, measurement systems exploration, Gage R&R studies, and inspection procedures.
  • Participating in Material Review Board resolutions regarding supplier-provided parts and services.
  • Engaging in supplier Quality System Improvement Plans.
  • Facilitating the Supplier Requests for Change process.
  • Conducting supplier Quality System audits.
  • Addressing corrective and preventive actions with suppliers.
  • Analyzing non-conformances and supplier performance for key performance indicators.
  • Monitoring dock-to-stock activities and part selections.
  • Guiding project teams in supplied component and supplier qualifications.
  • Identifying risks/hazards related to new product designs, processes, suppliers, and applications.
  • Operating job-related equipment safely and effectively.
  • Tracking and evaluating supplier performance while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and maintaining supplier management processes and tools.
