Job Summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to provide technical support to the Supply Chain Management team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in quality control, auditing, and supplier qualification.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Engineer to contribute to the success of our electronics manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience working with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive surveys of potential suppliers to assess their technical capability and capacity to deliver high-quality products on time.
  2. Assist in developing commodity strategies by working closely with commodity groups, ensuring approved suppliers conform to all conditions defined in our Supplier Quality System Manual.
  3. Audit key suppliers regularly, preparing audit reports and providing corrective actions for defective material received from approved suppliers.
  4. Participate as a team member of the Material Review Board (MRB), reviewing Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) and providing corrective actions for defective material.
  5. Provide training to new suppliers to ensure they understand AE requirements and business processes.
  6. Prepare QBR/PBR for the Quality section and attend meetings.
  7. Review FMEA and SPM with vendors to ensure improvement and process control are in place.
  8. Track and analyze annual quality data, providing a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in the electrical or electronics industry, preferably in magnetics/cable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic & Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Science/Physics.
  • Six Sigma green belt/black belt certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures and RoHS.
  • Experience in auditing, qualifying, and selecting suppliers.
  • Understanding of the IPC 620 standard and requirements.
