This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee the efficient management of inventory at a national level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and inventory control, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive inventory control strategies and policies aligned with the company's regional inventory program & framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive inventory control strategies and policies, aligned with the company's regional inventory program & framework.
  2. Standardize inventory processes and systems across sites and contracts to ensure day-to-day inventory control operations are managed consistently, efficiently, and effectively.
  3. Oversee the development and maintenance of standard inventory performance & reporting systems to track and analyze key performance metrics.
  4. Drive KPIs and lead initiatives to identify & eliminate root causes of inventory discrepancies, by working closely with contract managers and the operation inventory team on execution and results.
  5. Work with finance to mitigate any cost impacts.
  6. Drive compliance & governance; manage and execute rigorous inventory audit/validation exercises, according to the company's regional audit program.
  7. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for cost savings/improvements. Proactively propose solutions to management.
  8. Generate detailed inventory reports for management, interface with customers, and provide strategic insights.
  9. Implement best practices for inventory accuracy, including introducing standard tools and materials for regular cycle counts, audits, physical counting, and reconciliation activities.
  10. Drive continuous improvement in inventory management processes and technology utilization.
  11. As an effective employee trainer, provide regular performance feedback and training to inventory control team members.
  12. Implement Business Inventory Policy and Guidelines (for new contracts and renewals).
  13. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines in inventory handling.

Requirements:

Education & Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).

Experience

  1. Min. 5 years of working experience in logistics warehousing or a related field.
  2. Experienced in inventory management and industry best practices.
  3. Experienced in the planning, execution, and management of cyclical and annual physical counting, involving a large operation and with a diverse SKU base.

Skills & Knowledge:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong Excel skills to populate and analyze data.
  2. Proficiency in using WMS, or any other inventory management software.
  3. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  5. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. An effective employee trainer, able to train.
