About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality and Operations Director to join our team at Hirehub Management Sdn. Bhd. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in quality management, operations, and leadership to drive business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Management:
  • Develop and maintain a robust quality management system that encompasses quality assurance, environmental health and safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive framework for internal audits, external audits, and vendor/customer audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, including root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness monitoring.
  • Strategic management of supplier relationships and customer quality initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality management processes to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and environmental health and safety performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to align quality objectives with organizational goals.
  • Technical Services:
  • Oversee technical processes related to product management, process optimization, equipment maintenance, and test development services.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure technical requirements are met and address any technical issues that arise.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to internal teams and customers, resolving complex technical issues and driving innovation.
  • Product Technical Development and Implementation:
  • Ensure development of tests and required equipment to meet customer requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitor production documentation and ensure compliance with quality procedures, customer requirements, and legal standards.
  • Customer communication and evaluation of change orders and new requests.
  • Process Efficiency:
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for performance and overall efficiency, conducting regular reviews and analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and execute plans for cost-effective equipment replacements and investments to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and support business growth objectives.
  • Lead the development of strategies for technological development to drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.
  • Effective implementation of efficiency improvement programs and plans, optimizing processes and allocating resources effectively.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Monitor KPIs for performance and efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize processes.
  • Develop and execute plans for cost-effective equipment replacements and investments to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Lead the development of strategies for technological development to support revenue growth and operational excellence.
  • Full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and environmental health and safety regulations, while managing departmental resources effectively.
  • Personnel and Performance Management:
  • Establish departmental KPIs aligned with organizational objectives and develop a reporting framework to measure performance.
  • Plan departmental resources, identify training needs, and ensure timely implementation of training plans to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Leadership and guidance to direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Prepare departmental budgets in alignment with organizational goals and recommend approval by senior management.
  • Optimize resource allocation and maximize cost-effectiveness.
  • Investment planning and implementation, including equipment replacement, technology upgrades, and skill development initiatives.
  • Environmental Health and Safety:
  • Lead and organize the company's environmental health and safety compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
Requirements:
  • A professional certificate or bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or a related field.
  • Proven track record with over 5 years of hands-on experience in operation management roles in the EMS industry.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and maintaining ISO quality management systems, along with a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance methodologies such as 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in SMT processes and THT processes and other PCB assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and reducing defects in PCB assembly operations, leveraging advanced manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to conceptualize and drive forward-thinking quality initiatives.
  • Hands-on, proactive engagement across end-to-end operations, demonstrating strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, including inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and proficiency in standard office software applications like the Microsoft Office suite.
