Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Coordinator to join our team at the Sheraton Johor Bahru. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of housekeeping operations, including supervising staff, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and promoting sustainability practices within the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Stewards: Direct and assist Stewards in order to make clean up more efficient.
  • Cleanliness Standards: Ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning and documented.
  • Assist with Banquet Plate-ups: Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
  • Provide Support: Provide cooks with needed items and support banquet and buffet by transporting and ensuring adequate stock.
  • Maintain Equipment: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
  • Management Support: Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.

Requirements

  • Education: A relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, and a passion for sustainability.
