Mühlbauer Group is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the R&D department, you will be responsible for designing machine control systems that meet CE and safety standards.

Your primary duties will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, redesigning products to enhance functionality or reduce costs, and overseeing prototype development and testing. You will also be required to document engineering changes, provide training, troubleshoot internal and external product issues, and support the assembly process.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electronics and circuit design principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of machine control systems according to CE & local authoritative safety requirements
  • Preparation of Electronics Circuit Diagram (ECD) for serial lot assembly, customer upgrades as well as specific customer new machines
  • Improvement of electrical processes and components through analysis and data-driven decision making
  • Communication with stakeholders including business management, sales, assembly, internal R&D members, procurement and suppliers
  • Market research and evaluation of similar products and their functions
  • Redesign of products to enhance equipment functionality/application, reduce lead-time due to product end of life (obsolete) or to reduce cost
  • Creation of design projects and specifications sheets including test instructions for new processes/parts implemented
  • Presentation of product designs/prototypes to management, sales or customer
  • Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes
  • Development and distribution of Engineering Change Notice (ECN) to all relevant departments or personnel
  • Testing and documenting prototype products for functionality, ease-of-use and longevity
  • Resolution of product/equipment issues both internally and externally either by remote or physical support
  • Conducting and documenting training to personnel from assembly, training center, service, carrier tape production, sales or customer
  • Collaboration with project managers for proper allocations and tracking resources for on-time completion of tasks/projects/evaluations
  • Participation in 5S activities at own workspace and other R&D offices
  • Acting as internal project manager for development/evaluation projects when assigned
  • Documenting critical analysis and providing solutions for corrective/preventive actions
  • Performing hand-on assembly in assembly and carrier tape department when needed
  • Supporting selection and purchasing of items, technical support for sourcing of parts, clarifying questions and specifications with suppliers
