Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to establish a strong IR presence, fostering a harmonious and productive work environment across UEM Sunrise Berhad and its affiliated companies. As an Industrial Relations Specialist, you will provide legal guidance, share best practices, and mediate workplace disputes to promote positive employer-employee relationships.

You will address and resolve workplace grievances, escalating non-IR concerns to the appropriate Centers of Excellence (COEs). Your investigation skills and expertise in analyzing case statistics for dashboards will be valuable assets to our team.

You will also conduct Domestic Inquiries (DI), taking on roles such as Prosecutor, Investigating Officer, Minute Recorder, and managing logistical arrangements for DI. Additionally, you will prepare management papers for cases that may result in potential termination or dismissal.

As an expert in employment legislation and IR practices, you will ensure compliance with Labour Office, Industrial Relations Department, and Court procedures. You will also communicate changes in labor laws, court rulings, and industry best practices across various platforms.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Business Administration, Social Science, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Total work experience: 7 to 10 years
  • Relevant IR experience: 4 to 6 years, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Malay
  • Ability to present and defend ideas with clear, fact-based explanations
