Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and pro-active self-starter to fill the role of Programme Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in managing Banking / FI Domain projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating the project, obtaining authorization to start the project and scope the project. They will engage the project Sponsor and Steering Committee, and plan effectively around delivery constraints.

The Programme Manager will ensure the base lined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget are managed as outlined in Business Transformation Frameworks. They will monitor project execution to identify risks, issues, dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Initiating the project, obtaining authorization to start the project and scope the project.
  • Engaging the project Sponsor and Steering Committee.
  • Planning effectively around delivery constraints and optimizing the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk.
  • Ensuring the base lined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget are managed as outlined in Business Transformation Frameworks.
  • Monitoring project execution to identify risks, issues, dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Taking ownership of critical issues and ensuring resolution within agreed timescales.
  • Implementing mitigating plans against identified risks and issues.
  • Escalating when needed to the Senior Programme Manager with possible solutions.
  • Planning and managing the implementation of the change.
  • Ensuring that the organization and other change audiences are ready, willing and able to function in the new business environment.
  • Collaborating and building positive stakeholder and business partner relationships.
  • Working closely with delivery partners on planning, design and estimating.
  • Sets the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of achievement.
  • Promotes pace and energy within the team.
  • Keeps focus on the medium and long term goals.
  • Demonstrates effective financial skills to develop a detailed business case.
  • Develops and reviews estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost.
  • Provides timely reports on project status, risks and issues.
  • Manages and reports on the project budget.
  • Drives a culture of achievement and ensures pace by identifying and removing barriers to project success.
  • Maintains project change control.
  • Promotes and takes accountability for project quality.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to define the project strategy.
