Research Scientist

Sunway University is seeking a Research Scientist - Chemical Materials to contribute to innovative research in chemical/material characterization processes at the Sunway Biofunctional Molecules Discovery Centre (SBMDC).

The incumbent will contribute to the research goals of SBMDC and its associated projects, including wet lab work, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.

• Contribute to research goals and objectives
• Operate and support technology platforms specializing in chemical/material characterization and biofunctional activities testing
• Generate original research ideas based on data analysis and interpret research findings
• Collaborate with internal and external researchers
• Provide advice and supervise student projects
• Write and contribute to research publications and reports
• Participate in grant writing and explore funding opportunities
• Support teaching duties and contribute to research direction
• Engage in departmental and university committees

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a PhD in a relevant research area and demonstrate experience in chemical/material characterization and biofunctional activities screening or molecular biology.

2. Demonstrated research experience in chemical/material characterization and biofunctional activities screening or molecular biology
3. Proven track record of publishing research in high-impact journals
4. Expertise in chemical/material characterization processes and biofunctional activities testing
5. Familiarity with ISO documentation and research procedures
6. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills
