About the Role

BASF Asia-Pacific Service Centre Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a highly skilled Digitalization Specialist to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. As a key member of our Digital Hub, you will play a crucial role in driving our digital transformation journey and contributing to the development of innovative digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Global Teams: Work closely with a global team focused on developing, implementing, and supporting software solutions related to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) of people and production plants at BASF.
  2. Platform Development and Maintenance: Provide ongoing development and maintenance of platform (infrastructure, containerizations, cloud) related to the existing and continuously developing global portfolio of operational EHS digital solutions.
  3. Project Support: Support project work related to the implementation of an existing offering or development of a new solution within the operational EHS portfolio.
  4. Global Representation: Act as a Global / Regional representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping GDS to identify, execute and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way.
  5. DevOps Cycle: Be responsible for the continuous feedback phases of the DevOps cycle for select solutions in the Operational EHS product portfolio, including the operate, monitor, and plan phases.
  6. Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Understand technical issues with end users, troubleshoot, and further replicate and resolve any technical issues related to operationalized solutions in the team's product portfolio.
  7. Testing and Deployment: Be responsible for the testing of enhancements, with a particular view on user expectations, and support the deployment as needed.
  8. System Administration: Support the system administration associated with various solutions in the Operational EHS portfolio, including report and visualization development at local levels.
  9. Agile Team Collaboration: Coordinate with a global development team in an agile team framework.
  10. Communication and Feedback: Manage the communication feedback cycle with end users and in partnership with digital process owners within the team to coordinate the specific development needs with your colleagues in other global digital hubs.
  11. Issue Resolution: Work quickly to resolve any high-priority or high-impact issues related to solutions in the operational EHS landscape.
  12. Internal Customer Service: Use your strong interpersonal skills to ensure quality internal customer service and collaborate effectively with a global development team using agile development methodologies and tools.
Requirements
  1. Technical Experience: Experience in Application Support as Level 2 and/or Level 3.
  2. Application Management: Experience in application management, operations, and incidents management.
  3. Global Operational Support: Able to support the product manager with the Global Operational Support planning and execution and operations management.
  4. Communication and Leadership: Strong communication and leadership skills.
  5. Team Collaboration: Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  6. Independence and Analytical Skills: Self-starter, able to work independently, with analytical capabilities and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Agile Methodologies: Experience in Agile way of working.
  8. Technical Skills: Experience in SQL queries (PostgresSQL), ETL (extract, transform, load) (especially in Excel), JSON manipulation, Git (Version Control), and working in global teams/projects.
  9. Digital Mindset: Strong digital mindset to accelerate BASF digitalization transformation journey.
  10. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture.
  11. Decision-Making: Excellent judgment with the ability to weigh several conflicting constraints and make rapid, logical decisions in a fast-moving company.
Desirable Skills
  1. Scrum Master Experience: Experience as a Scrum Master.
  2. Technical Skills: Experience with Angular, Java, and Spring Boot, JasperReports, and supporting Cloud-based infrastructure (Azure).
Education and Work Experience

Degree or significant work experience in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics, or in a comparable field. Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role.
