About the Role

The R&D Engineering Department is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems. This role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our UAV products through rigorous testing and validation processes.

Key Tasks
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for UAV hardware, software, and integrated systems.
  • Conduct lab-based, simulation, and field testing to evaluate performance under real-world conditions.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and recommend design improvements.
  • Document test results, generate detailed reports, and present findings to HOD.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, including drones, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
  • Stay updated on emerging UAV testing methodologies, tools, and industry trends.
  • Support prototype iterations and pre-production validation to meet project milestones.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience of at least 2 years.
  • Piloting experience, along with the ability to build, assemble, and troubleshoot UAV-related products such as multirotor drones and fixed-wing UAVs, is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in testing methodologies (functional, regression, stress, and environmental testing).
  • Hands-on experience with UAV components (e.g., propulsion systems, GNSS, IMUs, telemetry).
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Ardupilot, PX4, MAVlink, and mission planner) and data analysis software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic R&D environment with shifting priorities.
