Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and ensure timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaison with tax agents on filings and tax computations.
  • Internal Controls: Monitor and maintain the integrity of financial reporting systems, ensuring all financial information is recorded accurately and consistently.
  • Consolidation & Reconciliation: Collaborate with the Group Reporting team on consolidation and intercompany reconciliation.
  • Audit Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, coordinating the audit process, preparing necessary documentation, and assisting auditors with required information for annual audits and ad-hoc reviews.
  • Audit Resolution: Ensure all audit queries are resolved in a timely manner and provide support to auditors in the collection of audit evidence.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement:

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations and work proactively to address any audit concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and financial governance frameworks.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts, working with business units to gather key inputs.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Support management in identifying trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards for business analysis and decision-making.

Business Support & Partnering:

  • Participate in key meetings with senior management to communicate financial results, highlight areas of concern, and suggest improvements.
  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., Operations, Legal, Tax) to ensure all financial reports and audit processes are in line with company goals.
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis, feasibility studies, and budgeting exercises.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit, with a focus on financial reporting and auditing.
  • Audit experience (preferably from Big 4 or mid-tier firms) is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a corporate accounting role in multinational companies (MNCs) or large local corporations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, MPERS, and IFRS standards.
  • Good understanding of Malaysian tax regulations (SST, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.).
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modelling, formulas, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
