Application Engineer

As an Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our business by providing pre-sales application consultancy to the sales team.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining deep technical product knowledge to deliver feasible application solution proposals.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define the electrical and mechanical design of solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing feasibility studies using various methods, including sample setups, simulations, and calculations.
  • Providing remote and onsite advisory services during after-sales commissioning activities.
  • Supporting Sales Engineers in defining the right price and conditions for solutions, based on the value add.

Key Accountabilities:

Impact on Business
  • Deliver technical expertise and consultancy within the sales process, guiding to a system concept solution for Electric Automation and other technologies/product lines.
  • Define the electrical and mechanical design of solutions, focusing on standard products and aligning with customer requirements.
  • Develop feasible application solution proposals, based on deep technical product knowledge.
  • Perform feasibility studies using various methods.
  • Provide remote and onsite advisory services during after-sales commissioning activities.
  • Support Sales Engineers in defining the right price and conditions for solutions, based on the value add.
Innovation and Change
  • Participate in training initiatives to enhance Sales Engineers' skills in relevant engineering tools and newly launched EA products.
  • Drive growth in Electric Automation, identifying new opportunities and collaborating with the Festo Experience Center network.
Communication with Internal and/or External Customers, Suppliers as well as Third Parties
  • Ensure end-to-end accountability for supported opportunities, from identification to installation.
  • Present proposed solutions to customers, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and share experience and know-how.
  • Support colleagues and customers in other S6 countries, leveraging your application expertise.
  • Maintain close collaboration with other teams.
Educational Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Consideration may be given to diploma holders with relevant work experience.
Professional Knowledge and Experiences
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant business experience required.
