As an AVP Equity Portfolio Management professional at Zurich, you will play a key role in managing one or more portfolios of securities with different investment mandates and guidelines. You will have discretion to invest in assets and be responsible for investment decisions.
You will provide market views (including macroeconomic, sector and sub-sectors) and participate in recommendations on asset allocation. The role will also support engagement with external providers of services and/or products in the investment area.
You will obtain competitive conditions (e.g. price, terms & conditions) with them by means of negotiation and monitor the service quality offered by the external providers on an on-going basis.
Key Responsibilities- Maximise the performance of one or more smaller and less complex portfolios within investment constraints and guidelines.
- Efficiently execute trades.
- Exercise independence and thoroughness in analysing and conducting due diligence on investments.
- Analyse market sectors and subsectors to formulate an opinion on their relative performance and make trading recommendations for the portfolios.
- Assist in performance attribution analysis to explain differences between portfolio and benchmark return.
- Identify attractive investment opportunities or trends in various investment strategies as well as undesirable style drift, unexpected performance trends, or other adverse developments.
- Develop action plans and/or redemption strategies for underperforming investments.
- Support the implementation of SAA and TAA decisions deriving from relevant ALMIC decisions.
- Monitor and manage to a given planned investment income and help to explain difference between planned and actual investment income.
- Support the process around outsourcing (selection and deselection), while ensuring compliance to processes and regulation for any purchase or engagement with a provider.
