About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our computer networks and related computing environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Design and Implementation: You will design and implement computer networks and related computing environments, including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Data Protection and Recovery: You will perform disaster recovery operations and data backups as required to ensure business continuity.
  • Network Security and Compliance: You will protect our data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures that comply with industry standards.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Hardware Replacement and Maintenance: You will replace faulty network hardware components when required and maintain, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications.
  • Network Performance Monitoring: You will monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • User Support: You will confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
  • Master Console Operation: You will operate master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.
  • Access Control and Configuration: You will coordinate computer network access and use.
  • Software Design and Testing: You will design, configure, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field of study with a network engineering focus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Infrastructure Management: Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
  • Protocol Knowledge: Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Documentation and Communication: Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Learning and Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliability and Flexibility: Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Security Experience: Network security experience.
  • LAN and WAN Experience: LAN and WAN experience.
  • SDWAN Advantage: SDWAN experience will be an added advantage.
