Contra-Reserve Expert

We are looking for a highly motivated Contra-Reserve Expert to join our revenue accounting team at Western Digital. This individual will be responsible for certain key contra-revenue reserve and reporting to ensure current processes are compliant with SOX control.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and 8 or more years of relevant experience in a multinational company or shared services center. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

1. Work with the Pricing team to ensure proper Reserves Programs are set up in the system;
2. Calculate and analyze monthly Customer Incentive Offering for revenue reserve requirements for all Western Digital revenue entities, and prepare journal entries to record reserve adjustments as appropriate;
3. Analyze the reserve fluctuation to support business requirements;
4. Calculate monthly Open RMA reserve accruals, and prepare and post journal entries as appropriate;
5. Reconcile contra-revenue related GL accounts;
6. Assist or lead related revenue projects to improve functional efficiency;
7. Assist SOX Documentation Update and internal/external audits for Revenue function;
8. Assist Revenue Accounting Manager and Sr Accounting Manager with ad hoc tasks as assigned.

• Proficient in Business Intelligence preferred; experience in Oracle Cloud environments is a plus;
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition fundamentals;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must;
• Self-motivated and self-directed, but must have demonstrated ability to work well with people as a team member;
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, as well as to multi-task and meet deadlines;
• Outstanding performer and obtain recognition in current jobs.
