Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while managing regional payroll vendors, ensuring compliance with local tax and labour regulations, and driving process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance across multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Operations & Compliance:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local laws.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations, statutory contributions, social security requirements, and labour laws in each country.
- Partner with local payroll vendors and internal HR/Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll execution.
- Handle multi-currency payroll processing and manage exchange rate fluctuations.
- Ensure payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audits are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage third-party payroll vendors and evaluate service levels to ensure efficient payroll operations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Tax teams to align payroll processes with company policies.
- Serve as the key point of contact for payroll escalations, issue resolution, and compliance updates.Process Improvement & System Optimization:
The ideal candidate will have experience implementing payroll process automation and efficiency improvements.
They will optimize payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors) for scalability and compliance.
They will utilize Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros) for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
They will ensure payroll records are accurately maintained and aligned with audit requirements.
Reporting & Compliance Audits:The ideal candidate will ensure payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and statutory declarations are completed on time.
They will support internal and external audits, providing required payroll data and documentation.
They will maintain data integrity and comply with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, CCPA).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- 8+ years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a regional or multi-country role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance across multiple countries.
- Experience managing payroll vendors and outsourced payroll services.
- Proficiency in payroll and HR systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors).
- Advanced Excel skills for payroll analysis and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential data.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
- Ability to analyse payroll data, identify discrepancies, and drive continuous improvements.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional language proficiency for supported countries is a plus.
