Job SummaryWe're seeking a strategic and technical leader to oversee Sustaining Engineering and drive best-in-class manufacturing processes. As Process Engineering Manager, you'll provide technical direction, manage engineering activities, and lead a high-performing team to meet manufacturing goals within our Quality System.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise resources in process development, product transfer, and process improvement to enhance product quality, decrease cost, and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to ensure manufacturing processes meet production targets against lowest cost, according to planning and quality requirements.
- Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
- Review technical accuracy of work, ensure Design of Experiments (DOE) are appropriate, and review statistical methods used to estimate future manufacturing requirements, production, and field performance data.
- Provide input to strategic decisions affecting the functional area of responsibility.
- Contribute to budget development and participate in cross-functional team discussions and meetings.
- Build, guide, and enhance the engineering team to meet future needs, focusing on work efficiencies and performance reviews.
- Champion and lead change initiatives, identifying the best approach for implementing process improvements, root cause analyses, and problem-solving systems such as DMAIC, A3, and Lean Six Sigma.
- Oversee and review design specifications, drawings, and other project documents, ensuring compliance with part/assembly specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans, and controls related validation protocols, reviewing report write-ups to ensure equipment/processes meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Hire, train, and mentor the engineering team, writing performance reviews.
- Basic knowledge related to product, process, and equipment used in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment across multiple functional groups.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and conflicting priorities.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience.
- Typically requires 5-8 years of leadership experience.
- Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma experience is required.
- Excellent team-oriented communication and organizational skills.
