Job Description

The FX Artist is responsible for creating visual effects for animated TV Series, short films, games, commercials and live action feature films.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Animation, Modelling, Look Dev (including light & comp) and other related departments to develop various FX approaches and assets.
  • Maintain and adhere to a consistent art style as required by Directors, Producers and CG Supervisor from cartoony, stylized to realistic.
  • Create various types of effects for projects, including fluids, particles and others.
  • Interpret and transform abstract ideas into compelling effects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a FX capacity.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of the following DCC (Maya, Houdini, Unreal Engine Niagara and After Effects).
  • Strong technical knowledge in particle effects, dynamic simulation and shader effects.
  • Strong knowledge of physics.
  • Strong technical knowledge in working on effects pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of rigid body dynamics and/or fluids.
  • Good eyes for details and strong aesthetic sense.
  • Able to work independently according to timeline.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot pipeline related effects issues.
Desirable Skills

The following skills are highly desirable:

  • Working knowledge of cloth, fur and/or hair simulation.
  • Good working knowledge of Unreal Engine Niagara and Materials (FX related).
