The successful candidate will support the Semiconductor Automation Supply Chain team as the lead cost engineer for both new and legacy products, providing cost estimates and comparison costs for the value of machined and fabricated goods.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Apply cost methodologies, tools, and software models to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data.
  • Improve product costing through continuous system, method, and procedure improvement.
  • Analyze initial data information to estimate costs associated with manufacturing a machined or fabricated product.
  • Verify supplier quotations meet 'should cost' estimates.
  • SUPPORT SUPPLIER MEETINGS AND NEGOTIATIONS TO CHALLENGE QUOTATION AND DIRECT COST REDUCTIONS TO MEET TARGET COSTS.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Purchasing or other Technical disciplines with at least 5+ years of experience in Cost Estimating within the Semiconductor or High-Tech Manufacturing industry.
  • Background in Mechanical commodities (sheet-metal, precision machining, welding, plastics, injection molding, casting, brazing).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, blueprints, product specifications, material tolerances, finish specifications.
  • Understanding of GD&T and mechanical industry workmanship standards.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal direction.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Knowledge of cost methodologies and software modeling tools.
