Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Sealed Air. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Environmental Management
- Supervise and manage environmental aspects, including air emission, ground and surface water, and perimeter noise.
- Organize and maintain inventory of industrial waste management, waste storage, and disposal regulations.
- Create and uphold policies and procedures for environmental management.
- Operational liaison with the Department of Environment.
- Occupational Health
- Coordinate plant noise level monitoring.
- Align plant occupational health concerns with the occupational health physician.
- Organize occupational health training, including hearing conservation, manual handling, and ergonomics.
- Create and uphold policies and procedures related to occupational health.
- Operational liaison with the Department of Health.
- Safety
- Offer counsel to plant management and employees on safety procedures and precautions.
- Ensure safety audits and inspections are carried out regularly to identify and prevent potential hazards.
- Advocate for safety awareness in the plant through campaigns and brochures.
- Coordinate incident investigation activity.
- Coordinate and oversee the operations of the Plant and Departmental EHS Committee.
- Coordinate plant Emergency Response Activity.
- Conduct safety training, including emergency response, risk assessment, and chemical handling.
- Represent the plant to the Gebeng Emergency Response Organization (GEMA).
- Develop and maintain plant Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Oversee the implementation of the plant Safety Policy and Procedure through EHS committees.
- Liaison with statutory bodies, such as DOSH on occupational safety and BOMBA/GEMA on emergency response.
- Site Security
- Manage site security systems.
- Develop and maintain site security policy and procedures.
- Possess at least a Professional Certification or Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent discipline.
- Certified Safety & Health (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia (Green Book Holder) or currently working towards registration with DOSH for Green Book Certification.
- At least 4 years of working experience in safety-related activities in a manufacturing background, knowledge in ISO is an added advantage.
- Highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.
- Competent in working with minimal oversight and dependable individual.
