Requirements:

  1. Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
    • Proven experience in building large-scale, cloud-based data infrastructure for high-volume, high-velocity data.
    • Strong experience with ETL tools, data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Google Cloud Composer), and batch/streaming data processing (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark).
    • Experience working with GCP or similar cloud services.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Scala; experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
    • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience in designing and managing data models.
    • Proficiency in GCP Services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Composer, Cloud Functions & Cloud Run.
    • Experience with data governance, data quality, and data privacy best practices.
    • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
  3. Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.
