The Senior Test Engineer is a critical role within Semtech's Advanced Mixed-Signal and Wireless Business Unit, responsible for developing and implementing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) testing solutions for new product evaluation, qualification, and production manufacturing. Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Test Hardware and Programs: Design and develop test hardware and programs for different integrated ICs for prototype evaluation, characterization, and production testing.
  2. Define Test Plans and Documents: Define and specify test plans and documents for new product production release, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
  3. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with different function groups to provide testing support for various projects, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.
  4. Provide Technical Guidance and Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to resolve any issues associated with testing, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on production.
  5. Investigate Testing-Related Issues: Investigate testing-related issues with detailed analysis and publish summary reports, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  6. Perform Correlation and Repeatability: Perform correlation and repeatability to set proper production test limits, ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
  7. Develop Standardized Test Methodologies: Develop, document, implement, and support standardized test methodologies, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  8. Manage Vendors: Manage vendors to ensure expected outcomes in terms of schedule and resolution, maintaining strong relationships and effective communication.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: B.S. or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with extensive years of working experience, preferably in development of ATE test solutions for analogue and mixed-signal IC's manufacturing testing environment.
  2. Technical Skills: Comprehensive understanding of electrical circuits and Analog/Digital IC testing methodologies, incorporated with high-volume production techniques and requirements. Proven programming skills in C/C++/VBA, and good understanding of working theory of semiconductor devices and reliability testing.
  3. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to proactively solve issues. Strong background in statistical data analysis using statistical tools, including Excel. Effective verbal and written communication to interface at all levels within the organization. Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule.
