The Turner Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Quality and Compliance Engineer (Electrical Systems) to join our team. As a Quality and Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical installations within a project. This involves developing and implementing a Quality Control (QC) Plan, conducting inspections and testing, managing quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project-specific Quality Control (QC) Plan for all electrical systems in coordination with the project team, owner/architect team, and contract documents.
  • Ensure that all electrical work, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and communication systems, complies with local and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with owners, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure full compliance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance project execution and minimize defects.
  • Manage QAQC documentation, including test reports, inspection checklists, material approvals, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Oversee inspections and testing of electrical installations, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Manage the commissioning process, including functional performance testing of critical electrical systems such as UPS, switchgear, transformers, and emergency backup systems.
  • Implement punch list prevention plans to minimize defects before project handover.
  • Ensure compliance with testing and commissioning protocols, including insulation resistance, high-voltage testing, and continuity testing.
  • Continuously refine and enhance the QC Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Propose and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Oversee completion of closeout documentation, including quality reports, final test certificates, and as-built documentation.
  • Stay updated on new quality standards, tools, and technologies to optimize QAQC processes.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, deliver feedback, and support career growth within the team.
  • Coordinate with safety teams to align QC activities with project safety plans and contractor Pre-Task Plans (PTPs).
  • Support project execution by ensuring quality procedures align with the project schedule and milestones.
