Data Scientist I (Operations Research)

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic data scientist to join our dynamic Operations Research team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to optimize various airline operations, including flight scheduling, crew planning, revenue management, and ground operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with senior data scientists and operational teams to understand business problems and translate them into analytical questions.
  2. Clean, transform, and prepare large datasets for analysis using SQL and other relevant tools.
  3. Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to address specific business challenges.
  4. Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  5. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively through clear and concise presentations and reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a data science or analytics role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
