The successful candidate will have experience in Hadoop cluster capacity planning, performance tuning, cluster monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Additionally, they should be able to develop and execute plans for target system data loading and testing, manage user access and permissions, and monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security.

About the Role

This role involves working on various tasks such as:

  • Hadoop File System management and monitoring.
  • Understanding and implementing user/new requirements, which includes data extraction from source systems into Hadoop system.
  • Monitoring Hadoop Cluster connectivity and security.
  • User management using user access and right permissions.
  • Hadoop support and maintenance.
  • Managing and reviewing Hadoop log files.
  • Work on installing, adding and removing Hadoop services, roles and instances.

Key Performance Indicators

The ideal candidate will be measured by the following KPIs:

  • High system availability, based on ICT desired benchmark (99.9%)
  • Completed change request on time >90%
  • Incidents/work order closed on time >95%
  • Proposals to improve current data lake performance (at least 3 per quarter)
  • Transfer of knowledge sessions
