The successful Candidate will collaborate with other leaders to drive and deliver department-wide improvement initiatives. As a team member operating in a highly complex accounting and reporting landscape, you will continuously drive initiatives to improve and optimize our system and process landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with the entire SMO Finance Reporting organization and experts in CF R HQ to ensure proper accounting treatment for sophisticated project businesses.
  2. Act as the interface to the business and take ownership of technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards.
  3. Stay up-to-date with new projects, emerging business opportunities, and evolving accounting guidance.
  4. Draft memos and liaise with senior management and external auditors on complex technical accounting issues.
  5. Coach a globally distributed team by creating and delivering training on existing and new accounting guidance.
  6. Manage transaction accounting service providers and processes.
  7. Partner with various teams to provide upfront consultations on new deals and support with complex contract reviews to ensure compliance with IFRS.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in public or corporate technical accounting at a large, publicly held company coupled with expertise in Financial Reporting Guidelines interpretation.
  • Clear understanding of percentage of completion (POC) accounting (construction project accounting).
  • Degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence, including written, verbal, and presentation skills; leadership ability to explain sophisticated accounting topics and financial results to senior leadership.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills with the capability to break down complex problems to identify root causes and develop systemic solutions.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, with strong adaptability.
  • Experience in working in a multinational environment with a strong focus on collaborating cross-functional & geographical teams is a plus.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English due to multi-cultural working environments.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience in SAP will be an added advantage.
