Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace's Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  2. Develop technical solutions to complex problems within GKN Aerospace, our customers, and suppliers.
  3. Provide technical support for manufacturing process development and integration for production.
  4. Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
  5. Implement production planning from original concept through to production.
  6. Develop and implement product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition, and implementation.
  7. Provide product training to technicians on Engine Manuals requirements and standards.
  8. Liaise with Engine OEM for product development and clarification.
  9. Conduct product internal and external audits.
  10. Develop manufacturing process solutions to complex problems through:
    1. Leading machine acquiring activities such as FAT, SAT and technical communication with supplier.
    2. Participate in physical development (hands-on) of repair methodology.
    3. Implement process changes for improvement, implementation, and first article.
    4. Provide process technical training for technicians on machine operating system and programming.
    5. Collaborate with the team to solve issues within production to minimize daily production downtime.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing/Product/Process Engineering.
  2. Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
  3. Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.
  4. Technical expertise in Manufacturing/Process/Product Engineering, with a professional qualification/Bachelor Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering (Aerospace/Aviation), Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, NDT).
  5. Ability to provide technical input at all levels of work in terms of product requirements or machineries.
  6. Capable of being a technical representative, representing the business at a customer/supplier meeting.
  7. Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions.
  8. Ability to apply complex and non-routine analysis.
  9. Well-versed in PFMEA, 7QC Tools, Control Plan and RCCA.
  10. Trained on Train The Trainer is an advantage.
  11. Sets example through own behavior and attitude.
  12. Able to contribute to effective project plans.
  13. Proactive approach demonstrated in team environment to achieve knowledge management.
  14. Explains concepts to a variety of audiences and ensures meaning is understood.
  15. Creates formal networks with key-decision makers internally and externally.
  16. Coaches others to do their jobs better, take on new jobs, and sustain their ability to meet the business need.
  17. Carries out Continuing Professional Development (CPD) necessary to ensure competence in areas identified and at the future professional level intended.
