Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team at Career Wise. As a key member of our precision automation solutions team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and presales support to our customers in the electronics and semiconductor assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-precision assembly solutions.
  2. Provide product application engineering support to our Asian customer base, sales and service organizations, and product teams.
  3. Review customer circuit board designs, manufacturing processes, and production capacities to identify potential production savings.
  4. Prepare and review sales and customer competitive analysis information, and prepare production capability and financial ROI analysis.
  5. Assist in defining market needs for new product features and enhancements.
  6. Evaluate prospective new applications, obtain relevant information, and assess feasibility.
  7. Work with sales, service, and customers on pre-sale and post-sale product and process application issues.
  8. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our products' technical specifications and capabilities.
  9. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility and cost.
  10. Provide design improvement recommendations and coordinate action plans.
  11. Analyze product or application opportunities and perform design calculations.
  12. Participate in and evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications.
  13. Design, document, and procure/modify parts or assemblies for prototype testing.
  14. Develop and coordinate test plans, compile test data, and document formal reports.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 10-15 years of direct experience in electronics and/or semiconductor assembly equipment.
  2. Prior experience in custom automation design and/or application is desired but not mandatory.
  3. Direct customer interfacing skills mandatory, with excellent written and oral skills.
  4. Mandarin speaking mandatory, with regular communication with Delta Electronics industrial automation business unit.
  5. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  7. Candidate from global semiconductor and/or electronics assembly equipment with specialization in SMT pick and place, die placement, dispensing, inspection highly desired.
  8. Candidate from local/international line builders, custom automation, system integrators within the electronics and semiconductor market segment will also be considered.
  9. Candidate must be willing to travel within the region between 25-50% on short notice.
  10. Fluent oral & written English.
